If something here is yours.
Use this page to tell us about material on this website that you believe infringes a copyright. It does not register a designated agent, and it does not claim a safe-harbor defense under any statute.
How to send a complaint
Send it through the project form. Start the summary with “Copyright notice”. There is no separate copyright mailbox, and the form is the intake we actually read. Do not assume a different address is monitored.
Include all of the following. A notice that skips them is incomplete, and we may ask you to send it again before we act.
- The copyrighted work you own, described clearly enough that we can identify it.
- The address on this site of the material you believe infringes it. One notice can list more than one address.
- A way to reply, using the email field on the form, plus your name.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright holder, that holder’s agent, or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright holder or are authorized to act for them.
- Your signature. A name typed on the form counts as an electronic signature for this intake.
What we do with it
We read complete notices and can remove or replace material while we look. Removing something is not an admission. Concept studies on this site are original compositions for the agency. They are not client identities.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice through the same form. Start the summary with “Copyright counter-notice”. Include:
- Your name and a way to reply.
- The address of the material that was removed and where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury where that standard applies to you, that the removal was a mistake or a misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts that can hear the dispute, or an explanation if you cannot make that statement. This page does not name the agency’s courts, because that place has not been supplied.
- Your signature, including a name typed on the form.
A counter-notice asks us to reconsider the removal. It does not by itself restore the material, and it does not decide the copyright. The person who sent the original notice may still pursue the claim.
